M.S. in Environmental Humanities

  • demonstrate an understanding of fundamental ideas about genres, themes, styles, historical periods, and cultural contexts for humanities disciplines and their interpretation of the environment;
  • demonstrate an understanding of major concepts, theories, and approaches to research in the study of the environment;
  • be able to identify, analyze, and assess information from a variety of sources and perspectives;
  • be able to formulate an argument and express that argument clearly and cogently in both oral and written communication;
  • be prepared for entry level positions in the public, private, or nonprofit sectors;
  • be able to produce scholarly writing or non-fiction prose worthy of publication in a relevant journal;
  • have developed specific expertise in an area of environmental humanities.
